My Journey with BP 1

All About Me

Hi, my name is Tania, I am 44 years old and have been living with Bipolar 1 disorder for as long as I can remember. Although I was "officially" diagnosed when I was 21 years old I can remember not being like everyone else as far back as 14 years old. I did not know what BP 1 disorder was when I was diagnosed with it, however, through the years I have learned everything I can about the disorder, how it works, how it affects me personally as well as others, and how to navigate through the best way I can. I started this website to help me get the thoughts out of my head and hopefully help others living with Bipolar 1 disorder at the same time. I hope to meet new people, share my journey, and hear what others out there have gone/are going through. Feel free to read my blogs and comment or share your story. I am not a doctor or medical professional, these are just things that come with my daily struggle with BP 1 and how I have learned to cope with the ups and downs. I will share my journey with you all through blog posts once a week. Also, there's a chat area to connect with other members of the mental health community and create a support system for those diagnosed as Bipolar. Lastly, there is a place to contact me and a form that can be filled out by medical professionals detailing how Bipolar disorder is affecting you and your life. This can be a helpful tool for gathering information to use for Short-term disability, ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act), and SSDI (Social Security Disability), as a way to get the necessary medical information for review. So, I hope you all find this website helpful and make it a place where we can all grow together, and individually, and teach one another not to be defined by our disorder.

Best Wishes,

Tania
